Cause of Loss Policy
It is the policy of the BVA Federal Credit Union to deny
future services (with the exception of maintenance of the
share account) to any member who causes the BVA Federal Credit
Union to suffer a loss.
For the purposes of this policy, it shall be determined
that the BVA Federal Credit Union has suffered a loss when
the credit union determines that a member is past due or has
defaulted on an obligation and that there is a reason to believe
that the obligation will not be made current or the default
cured.
The filing of a bankruptcy shall not be deemed to cause a
loss to the BVA Federal Credit Union if:
(1) the credit union is completely made whole through the
bankruptcy proceeding
or
(2) the member reaffirms the bankruptcy debt with Court approval.
It is also the Policy of the BVA Federal Credit Union to
deny any or all services to any member who the Credit Union
has determined to be a risk and could cause a loss to the
Credit Union if permitted to use one or more of the services
of the Credit Union. These services include, but are not limited
to Direct Deposit, Electronic Funds access, Check Cashing,
Share Draft Accounts and VISA Debit or VISA Credit Card.
