About BVA Federal Credit Union

The credit union was chartered in 1966 as Rostraver Federal Credit Union. In 1969 the charter name was changed to Belle Vernon School Employees Federal Credit Union. The name changed in 1999 to BVA Federal Credit Union to accommodate a larger centralized member group.

Once an employee joins the credit union, the members spouse, children, parents, grandparents, and grandchildren are eligible to become members of BVA Federal Credit Union. "Once a member, always a member" means that once you join the BVA Federal Credit Union, you may remain a member for life.

Since we are a not-for-profit organization, we provide members with higher savings rates and lower loan rates. Unlike banks, credit unions exist solely to serve the members with reasonable priced financial services.
